Mathew - A talented musician has brought the rich tradition of Kerala’s Chendamelam to Atlantic Canada by training 30 individuals in the art of playing the Chenda, forming the region’s first-ever Chendamelam troupe. With dedication and passion, they introduced this vibrant percussion tradition to a diverse group, fostering cultural pride among the Indian community and sparking interest among Canadians. This initiative not only preserves a centuries-old art form but also builds a bridge between cultures, uniting people through the universal rhythm of music.
